The Foundation for Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital in Gothenburg

The Foundation for Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital is dedicated to improving the hospital experience for children aged 0-18. Mainly through activities and environments that are not covered by public funds. Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital is Sweden’s largest children’s hospital, providing advanced care to young patients from all over the country.

Since 2000, the foundation has raised funds and formed partnerships to improve the quality of life for these children and their families. Governed by the Swedish Fundraising Control and maintaining a 90-account, the foundation ensures donations are used responsibly. It helps children and young people with both physical and mental health issues, based on needs identified by hospital staff. Despite being a small organization with only three full-time employees, the foundation achieves significant impact through a strong network of partners and volunteers. For example, we raise approximately 10 million SEK annually, which has been used to create more child-friendly hospital environments, sibling support and family activities. The foundation believes that joy plays a crucial role in healing and aims to provide more activities and enjoyment for children during their hospital stay.

Joy heals.
